James Patrick McGrane

August 26, 1958 ~ December 28, 2020 (age 62)

James Patrick McGrane, 62, of Camden, MO and formerly of Terryville, CT, with his loving family at his side passed away on December 28, 2020 at Liberty Hospital. He was the loving husband of Deborah (Relihan) McGrane for over 40 years.

He was born on August 26, 1958 in Waterbury son of the late Howard and Evelyn (Wiles) McGrane. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps at Camp Lejuene, NC and Ft. Mommouth, NJ. Prior to moving to MO and working for Ford, Jim was a Tool and Die Maker at many local shops. Jim was a "McGuiver" as he could fix anything and make anything, a motorcycle enthusiast with a love of Harley Davidson's and Indian's , a talented musician-playing in the Beatles Abbey Road, Midnight Alarm, No Dice, Just Us, Chaparral’s and many many others. He was an avid Beatles fan. He was also a barter/trader, looking for the next best deal. He and his wife went to many swap meets and antique stores to "find another deal." He was a magnificent storyteller and had a way with words and they were colorful. He was a family man that would do anything for his wife, kids or anyone that needed a hand-as he once paid for a guitar for a friend in need. Many will miss Jim's drumming, playing the bass and mandolin and his singing. Jim will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Jim belonged to the American Federation of Musicians Local 186, Waterbury, CT, the Terryville Lions Club (for which he received the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation award for his work on music festivals for their cause), and Ray Lodge 223 AF&AM of Camden, MO and UAW 249 of Kansas City, MO.

Besides his wife Debbie, Jim is survived by his children Charles James McGrane and companion Lillie Andress of Rockledge, FL and Caraline Gibson and husband Keith of Monterey, CA, two grandchildren of which he cherised- Emaline McGrane and James Gibson, a brother Charles McGrane and wife Patricia of Oakville, a sister Linda McDermott and husband Emit of Thomaston along with several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
