Our Services
It is our sincere desire to provide the families that we serve with compassionate and affordable services arranged to truly honor the final wishes of their loved ones and also the needs of the family. Our beautiful new facility is fully handicapped accessible and child friendly and offers families the opportunity to comfortably display picture and video tributes. We welcome families to share memorabilia (like the quilts seen below) of their loved one, making the service as unique as they were. We also have the services of many very talented vocalists and musicians and an organ on premises available for families wishing to have live music performed at calling hours or during a service. Our professional staff will make every effort to insure that all of the needs of the family are attended to.
We also have a children’s room where the kids can play within view of their parents.
FUNERAL SERVICE
A funeral service is a special time for family and friends to comfort one another, begin to find healing and celebrate a life well lived. Whether you choose burial or cremation, you can hold a funeral service to honor your loved one. We are happy to provide a traditional funeral or something completely unique. Many cultures and religions have special funeral traditions and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. This is a moment for you and your family and we are honored to help you in any way that we can.
MEMORIAL SERVICE
Just like a funeral service, a memorial service is a time to remember your loved one. This can be held shortly after death or weeks later, with or without an urn present. What’s important is that it creates a time and a place for family and friends to gather together and support one another, share memories and pay their respects. We can hold a memorial service at our funeral home, the final resting place or at your home.
BURIAL
A casket burial is a traditional service and there are many options you can choose from. We can provide an immediate burial without a public service; a visitation, viewing or wake with a closed or open casket; a funeral service at our funeral home, church or private home and a graveside service at a cemetery. You can choose whether you’d like a public or private service or a combination. It is entirely up to you how you wish to pay your respects.

Connecticut Cremation
The charge for a direct cremation includes removal of remains, local transportation to crematory, necessary authorizations, and basic services of the staff. This charge includes the crematory fee and the Medical Examiner Fee in compliance with the State of Connecticut Law. It does not include the use of facilities and staff or any visitation or ceremony, public or private, prior to the cremation. If you want arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are unfinished wood boxes and fiberboard boxes. Additional fees may apply. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home offers the lowest price for Direct Cremation of all funeral homes in the area. Additional fees may apply.

MAUSOLEUM
Some cemeteries offer families the option of purchasing a mausoleum crypt for interment as an alternative to traditional earth burial. Not all cemeteries have mausoleums available.
