Laurine A. Murray, 67, of Prospect went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 14, 2023 after a brave and valiant battle with cancer. In her early adult years, Laurine was an avid bodybuilder. She achieved many awards including 1 st place in the Atlantic States Open. No doubt her strength of mind, body and spirit carried throughout her life and was a testament to her mentorship of her students and family. She spread kindness wherever she went and her smile could light up a room.
Laurine earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University where she graduated magna cum laude, and later went on to continue her education accruing many specialty credits in educational development. Her students were blessed with her dedication, generosity, intelligence and love. Laurine poured her heart into her work, striving to provide the best education and future for her students. Her coworkers will forever remember and cherish her commitment and contribution to their team.
Laurine was a woman of faith as a long-time communicant of St. Anthony Church; her faith provided a tremendous source of strength throughout her illness. Her family was honored to assist and enable her to remain in her home throughout her illness and until her last breath; a gift of love and testament of how very much Laurine meant to each and every one of them.
