Richard “Bud” Cullen, 90, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Complete Care at Glendale. Richard was born on November 18, 1932 in Waterbury to the late Elizabeth (Gedraitis) and Francis Cullen.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in manufacturing for much of his life and was a foreman at Scovill Manufacturing and Century Brass. Richard loved to stay busy and after retirement he continued working; He was a salesman at the G. Fox department store, delivered bread for Freihoffer’s, and also worked at LaBonne’s Market (formerly Oliver’s) in Prospect.
Left to cherish Richard's memory are his two sons: Michael Cullen of Shelton and Robert Cullen of Las Vegas, NV; his nieces and caretakers Donna Sousa and Maria Musco, both of Waterbury; his four grandchildren: Andrew, Kristen, Lexi, and Nicholas; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his four siblings: Frances (Cullen) Hurley, Robert Cullen, Ruth (Cullen) Wotton, and Irene (Cullen) Musco.
Funeral services are private. Richard will be laid to rest in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
