Marie "Evy" (Dupuis) Marcoux

Marie Evelyn Juliette Marcoux, 85, of Prospect, passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Gaetan (Guy) Marcoux for 66 years and the daughter of Emile and Camilla (Chalifoux) Dupuis. In addition to her husband Evy leaves her daughter Marie Morich; son Bart Marcoux and wife Mary; son Bryan Marcoux and wife Christine; daughter Renee Wojtczak and husband Joseph; daughter Kristine Chabot and husband Mark; and siblings Maurice Dupuis and Jacqueline Sharrow. She was also the memere to 14 grandchildren and a grande memere to 5 great-grandchildren. Evy was predeceased by her son Brett Marcoux, her brother John Dupuis, and her son-in-law Michael Morich.

Evy has worked as a telephone operator at SNET and as a cafeteria server at Prospect Community School and Waterbury State Technical College. Her favorite position was as the secretary and bookkeeper at Marc Tool & Die for 45 years. She was a proud sponsor of the Prospect Little League Marc Tool & Die Yankee team for 40 years and she was a member of the St. Anthony’s Church Ladies Guild. Her interests included: sewing, ceramics, bowling, knitting, crocheting, reading, and collecting antiques and quilts. Evy was an avid sports fan: she loved the Greenbay Packers and was a cheesehead through-and-through. The New York Yankees were her favorite baseball team and we hope they win the World Series this year just for her.

She was one of a kind and we all agree that if you knew Evy then you know how blessed you are to have known her. Evy’s family would like to thank VITAS Healthcare for making her last days with them more comfortable.
