Marianne Lussier Obituary

Marianne S. Lussier of Prospect, beloved wife of Paul Lussier, passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.  Marianne was born December 18, 1936 in Torrington, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Felix and Assunta (Marchione) Marracino.

Marianne made friends instantly, her kind and outgoing ways led to lasting friendships. She met and married the love of her life Paul and enjoyed over 55 years together.  They welcomed their three sons Steve, Ken and Todd who were the light of her life.  While her sons were growing up, Marianne worked as the administrative assistant to the principal of Holy Cross High School in Waterbury for many years.  She also worked for the Jackie Carol temp service where she earned “Secretary of the Year Award”.   While raising her family, she earned her Associate Degree in Business which was very special to her.

Family was the center of Marianne’s world.  Welcoming her daughter-in laws into her family expanded her joy.  Her greatest blessings were her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.  “Grandma” was so very loved.  She enjoyed family dinners and gatherings where she would lavish her family with her delicious Italian cooking and her special chocolate chip cookies.  She was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and UConn Women's basketball teams.

Marianne was an active member of the Prospect Senior Center and a devoted communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.  A highlight of her faith journey was a trip to Italy where she experienced the awesome splendor of visiting the Vatican.

Left to cherish her love and memory are her husband Paul, sons Steve and wife Tina of Wolcott, Ken and wife Carmelina of Farmington, and Todd and wife Lucy of Florida.  “Grandma” will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Brooke, Olivia, Logan, Nico, Gianluca, Matthew and Savannah and her great grandson Grayson.  Marianne is survived by her brother Richard (Lillian Lewis) Marracino of California and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marianne was predeceased by her brother Anthony and sisters Margaret and Emily and newborn twins named Santas.

“Remember, never say goodbye because we’ll be seeing each other again.”
