Margaret Sanderson Obituary

Margaret Thompson Sanderson, 75, of Waterbury passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, October 28, 2021.  She was the loving wife of Frank Stangaroni.  Margaret was born October 16, 1946 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Robert E. Thompson and Margaret Hollingworth Thompson.

Margaret had a wonderful sense of humor; her graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts reflected her readiness to share a laugh with others.  She loved nature, gardening, and gazing at the stars.  A friend to all animals with a special fondness for cats.   Margaret was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School class of 1965 where she majored in cosmetology.  She was a hairdresser, homemaker and business woman.  She was kindhearted, strong and selfless.  Family was the center of everything for Margaret; her daughters were gifted with the unconditional love, freedom and encouragement to be as independent, creative and caring as she was.  Being Nana to her grandsons, baking, movie and dinner dates with Frank, feeding the birds and squirrels, and word puzzles were a few of Margaret’s joys. Family was the center of Margaret’s world; her daughters, vacations to the shore, holiday celebrations, grandchildren, sons-in-law and time with friends brought her joy beyond measure.

Left to mourn her loss, treasure her memory and honor her love are her husband Frank her cherished daughters Amanda Hill and her husband Jeff of Winsted, Laura J. Sanderson and husband Chris Sletner and her precious grandsons Miles and Parker all of Torrington.  She also leaves her brother Robert Thompson Jr of Texas and sister Carol (Art) Cote of Colorado as well as Frank’s children Eric Stangaroni and Juliet Keith.  Margaret was predeceased by her brother David Thompson.
