Justin Elward Obituary

Justin J. Elward, 36, of Naugatuck and formerly of Prospect, passed away on March 16, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Justin was born on December 17, 1986 to Marian (Nelson) Elward and the late James J. Elward who passed away in 2019.

Justin was a graduate of Woodland Regional High School in Beacon Falls and was proud to be a part of their first championship football team. Justin loved watching sports and was a huge Seattle Mariners and Green Bay Packers fan. For over ten years he worked at the Stop and Shop on Reidville Dr. in Waterbury, having various jobs throughout the store. Justin was a gentle giant with a quiet disposition, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. When he lived in Prospect he would often help elderly neighbors and friends when they needed assistance, whether it was shoveling snow or helping out around their home.

Justin was a big music buff and loved listening to punk and hard rock. He loved sharing music with others and would often introduce them to new music they hadn’t heard before. He enjoyed going to rock concerts like the Warped Tour and playing video games with his friends in his spare time.

Left to cherish Justin’s memory is his mother Marian, his brother David Elward, both of Naugatuck, as well as many friends whose lived he touched. He also leaves behind his sweet K9 companion Maxi, who was so very important to him.

Justin's family will be holding a memorial gathering in the near future. Prospect Memorial / The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to assist the Elward family. You are invited to share a fond memory, photo and words of comfort for Justin's family on his Tribute Wall on this website.
