June Dwy, 73, of Naugatuck, passed away on Sunday, July 3, at Waterbury Hospital. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. She was the widow of Robin Dwy, her beloved husband of 55 years, who left her side in March this year. June was born on June 29,1949 in Waterbury to the late Jane (Elliott) and Harry Alsdorf. June had an eclectic array of professions, and she seemed to always be doing something new. She worked as a medical coder where she retired, she obtained a real estate license, became a nail technician, she was a mastectomy fitter working with breast prosthetics, and also enjoyed endless trips to the city for buying and selling jewelry. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to June. She loved a quiet evening with either family or friends at a restaurant she drove by a few nights before. She loved sitting pool side with a glass of wine or cosmo in hand. Her personality was contagious to everyone she met. June loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. June was a dedicated mother first and foremost but she especially loved her role as mema and Grammy. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Left to cherish June’s memory are her three children: Jackie Dwy and her fiancé David Broadus of Waterbury, James Dwy and Jennifer Dwy, both of Naugatuck; her two brothers: Leroy Alsdorf and his wife Laura of Naugatuck, and Steven Alsdorf and his wife Mary of Watertown; her sister Lorraine Demuchowski of Prospect; her five grandchildren: Christopher Dwy, Jessi Dwy, Sabrina Dwy, Jami Dwy-Britt and her husband Taray, and Jaylen Kelley; her five great-grandchildren: Devin Caulfield, Cameron Alvarado, Yahmad Rountree, Jr., Aria Britt, and Aila Britt; as well as nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Prospect Memorial / The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd. in Prospect, with a funeral service beginning at 1pm. You are invited to share a fond memory, photo or words of comfort for June’s family on her Tribute Wall on this website.
