Judith A. Longo, 75, of Prospect, beloved wife of Michael R. Longo passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 after a courageous battle with dementia and cancer.  Judi was born April 9, 1946 in Newark NJ. Her parents were Frank and Ethel Randall.  She lived her early childhood in Clifton, NJ, and resided in Middletown NJ until she was 20 years old. She and Mike met while Mike was attending Rutgers University and were later married in Middletown, NJ.

Judi accompanied Mike in the military at Fort Sill, OK, Fort Hood, Texas and Okinawa. After the service commitment, they settled in CT, first in Bridgeport, then in Naugatuck and finally in Prospect, where they resided happily for the last 38 years. They raised 2 wonderful children and were blessed with 7 grandchildren, who all reside nearby.

There was no one nicer in the world than Judi, who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She retained her unique sense of humor to the very end. Judi didn’t care about money or big, expensive things. All that she ever wanted was her family and was happy with the simple things. Judi enjoyed shopping on QVC and HSN and will be remembered for her style. She was also an animal lover, having many pets throughout her life, and never met an animal she wouldn’t try to befriend (except spiders). Judi would feed any animal that came by.

Judi and Mike enjoyed going to concerts, especially the Jersey Boys, whom they saw several times. Dean Martin was her all-time favorite singer. Judi was happy with the occasional dinner and show and enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows. Both Judi and Mike enjoyed the simpler things in life, especially cocktail hour before dinner, while they watched recordings of their favorite TV shows. Some of their happier times were spent during their annual visits to the Jersey Shore.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Mike of 55 years, her daughter Stacey Caouette and husband Jim of Wolcott, her son Geoff Longo and his wife Kelley of Southington, her grandchildren: Michael, Drew, Derek and MacKenzie Caouette and Alex, Max and Sydney Longo.  Judi adored her grandchildren and loved to watch them play sports and other activities. She also leaves behind her brothers Tom Randall and his wife Linda of Niceville FL and Scott Randall and his wife Dee of San Diego, as well as her nephew Gene Randall of Huntsville AL. Judi also leaves behind her beloved cats Peanut and Popcorn.

The family would like to thank Dr. Victor Chang and the staff of Smilow Waterbury, especially nurses Marlene and Cheryl. We would also like to thank the staff at Seasons Hospice, in particular CNA Danielle, as well as the aides from Malaika Homecare, especially Cookie and Jackie, who saw us through the last moments.

Judi will be sorely missed and the world will be a lesser place. May God bless her and may she rest in peace.

A Celebration of Judi’s life will be held on Saturday April 30, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.  Visitation is on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.  Prospect Memorial / The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Longo family with the arrangements.  You are invited to share a fond memory, a photo or to express words of comfort for her family on her Tribute Wall.
