Joshua "Goya" Chavez

Joshua “Goya” Chavez, 31, of Waterbury, passed away on Friday May 14, 2021.

He was born in Waterbury on December 17, 1989 son of Brenda Lee Santiago and Anselmo Chavez. In his spare time, he loved to play basketball, go to the beach and go fishing. His family and friends were most important to him especially his children. He has impacted so many peoples lives with his jokes, his personality and the love that he had for everyone.

Besides his parents, Goya is survived by three children Juelz Chavez and his mother Deanna De Leon, Mya Chavez and Emma Day and their mother Elise Colon. He also leaves behind five siblings Jorge “Jo-Jo” Santiago, Matthew Chavez, Elizabeth Chavez, Samantha Chavez and Gabriel Chavez and a nephew Xavier Chavez, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.

The funeral will be held at 11 am Monday May 24, 2021 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
