Jennie A. (Rabis) Jannetty, 82, of Naugatuck died peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at St. Mary’s after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Joseph L. Jannetty for over 58 years. Jennie was born May 9, 1939 in Southington, CT, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Gladke) Rabis.
When Joe and Jennie married in 1964, a lifetime of devotion, love and happiness began. She was a stay- at- home Mom while her kids Sandra and Joseph were growing up. Jennie was the loving center of her family.
She enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Jennie’s house was always filled with all the neighborhood teenagers. She was Mom to all; making French fries, serving ice cream and playing cards with all neighborhood kids on summer nights. When her children started college, Jennie went to work to be sure tuition payments were not a burden. She quickly worked her way up to quality inspector. She was a great listener and became fast friends with whomever she met. Jennie was most certainly the center of her family and will be so sadly missed.
Left to cherish her love and memory are her husband Joe, daughter Sandra Jannetty and husband Jack Carey of Md., son Joseph D. Jannetty and wife Shannon of Naugatuck and grandchildren Nico and Luca Jannetty and MacKenzie Carey. She also leaves her brother Michael Rabis of Southington and sister Patricia Jannetty and husband Eugene of Prospect as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Jennie is predeceased by her brothers William, Joseph and Robert Rabis and sister Helen Bousquet.
The Jannetty family would like to thank the hospital staff of Xavier Three of St. Mary’s Hospital for their compassionate care and dedication.
