Gavin “Gav” Gallant unexpectedly passed away on November 11, 2023, at the very young age of 21. Gavin was born on June 23rd, 2002, in Waterbury, CT, surrounded by the love of his parents Melissa Cegielski and Phillip Gallant.
As a young boy Gavin was courageous, active, brave, bold, and unrelenting during any activity he participated in. Throughout his youth, Gavin was naturally athletic and gravitated towards sports. Leading the throwing team, he served as Captain of his cross-country team at City Hill Middle School in Naugatuck. Gavin was also an avid basketball player for years and loved the comradery of being on a team. Gavin spent most of his free time discussing or admiring anything on wheels. He absolutely loved cars. He would talk off anyone’s ear that was willing to listen about cars, specifically their mechanics, beauty, and speed.
In recent years Gavin worked at M.F. Rosa Contracting LLC as an Apprentice Carpenter. His boss described him as, “Willing to do anything that he was asked to do on the job,” “Always smiling on the job and great with customers,” as well as, “always eager to learn something new.” Gavin was devoted to his family and friends. Gavin never missed a special event and was almost always the first one there. His family and friends all know him as loving, caring, kind-hearted, and always willing to give the shirt off his back. Gavin had the best laugh and was extremely funny. He will always be remembered for the happiness that he always brought to those around him. Gavin is survived by his siblings Divinity Gallant, Kayla Gallant, Destinee Zarrelli, Xander Albitz, and Hope Pecor. As well as his grandparents, James Cegielski, and Phillip and Charlene Gallant.
