Fannie L. (Walton) Jordan, 91, of Waterbury, passed away on January 27, 2021 at the Cheshire House in Waterbury. She was the loving wife of the late Clinton Jordan, Sr. for over 45 years.
She was born on February 20, 1929 in Hobbsville, NC daughter of the late John and Etta (Beasley) Walton. Fannie was an active member of Zion Baptist Church where she was a fourth Sunday Captain and served on the Senior Usher Board for many years. Fannie worked as a cook at the Mt Olive Senior Center prior to her retirement. She formerly worked at Uniroyal, Sherwood Medical and as a CNA. In her spare time she loved to read the paper, watch tv, and tend to her flower gardens and house plants. She was well known for her great cooking for family gatherings and holidays. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Fannie is survived by her daughter Joyce Bond and husband Henry of Wolcott, two brothers John Walton of Hertford, NC and Irvin Walton of Waterbury, a sister Katherine Walton of Waterbury, three grandchildren Michelle and Kelly Jordan, and Alicia Pittman, three great grandchildren Marissa and Dominique Jordan and Sarai Williams, three great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son Clinton Jordan, Jr. and three brothers Curtis Walton, David Walton and Charlie Walton.
The funeral will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Walk through calling hours will be held from 9:30 am until the time of the service. The family will meet at the funeral home for 10:30 am. Masks must be worn and all CDC and CT state guidelines will be adhered to.
