Eleanor Louise Lockwood

Eleanor “Ellie” Louise Lockwood, 90, formerly of Southbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Glendale Health Center.  Ellie was born on September 25, 1932 in New Milford, a daughter of the late Stephen and Marguerite (Cass) Ferriss.

Ellie retired from her position as supervisor at The Southbury Training School after 25 years of dedicated service.  She was very devoted and compassionate to her clients, their families, and other employees. Upon her retirement, she moved to her dream home in Florida. During the many years to follow she enjoyed the sunny weather of Florida as opposed to New England.

Ellie leaves to cherish her love and memory her daughter Lisa Lockwood and her partner Henry Roy of Prospect, and her son Scott Lockwood and his partner Ginny Miller of Florida; her grandchildren Ezrah Lockwood and his wife Valerie of California, Amil Lockwood of Woodbury, and Matthew Greggis and his wife Becca of Watertown; as well as her great-grandchildren Vincent and Eva Lockwood. Ellie also leaves her brother Stephen Ferriss of Michigan and her daughter-in-law Denise Lockwood of Woodbury.

Ellie was predeceased by her son Gregory Lockwood, her brother Roger Ferriss, and her ex-husband Charles Lockwood.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 11am to 12 noon at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 12pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
