Edna J. (Martin) Sobireski, 89, of Prospect, died Sunday July 18. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Sobireski.
She was born in Waterbury on January 24, 1932, daughter of the late Alfred W. and Catherine (Griffin) Martin. She was a longtime Prospect resident. Edna retired from Lewis Engineering in Naugatuck. She also was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with family, especially her granddaughter and enjoyed trips to the casino with her sister Barbara.
Edna leaves her son Todd Sobireski and wife Denise, a granddaughter Melissa Sobireski, two sisters Barbara (Donald) Bragg and Catherine Baummer all of Prospect, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son Michael Sobireski, a brother Alfred (Betty) Martin, Jr., and two sisters Shirley Laiszck and Maureen Canalas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Friday July 23 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.
