Cherished Sister
Carolyn A. Corcoran Nelson, 77, of Palm Bay, Florida previously of Prospect CT, passed away peacefully March 5, 2021. Carolyn was born October 1, 1943 to the late Edward Corcoran Sr. and Eileen (Miller) Corcoran. Carol was preceded in death be the love of her life, her husband Andrew Nelson.
Carol was the office manager for Corcoran Moving and Storage until her retirement.
Carol was a loving godmother to Gary Corcoran II of Prospect. Andrew, Carol and Gary went hiking, boating, camping and sailing together in Maine. She and her husband traveled throughout the country in their motorhome before settling in Barefoot Bay Florida. She enjoyed her gourmet meals made by “Chef Gary II” and her rides as “Miss Daisy” in his 1955 Jaguar. Carol loved convertibles especially her 1970 Corvette. She was so proud of her godson Gary and all that he accomplished. She fought a hard battle against cancer, expert care gave her added years. Carol’s great sense of humor and genuine love will be so missed.
Carol is survived by her brother Edward Corcoran Jr of Wolcott, and her favorite brother Gary Corcoran of Prospect, her two uncles, an aunt and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11 am at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. An hour of visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service. You are invited to share a memory or words of comfort on this website.
