Alfred “Danny” Ortega II, 41, of Waterbury, passed away on February 7, 2021.
He was born on October 11, 1979 in New York son of Daisy (Ayala) Arce and the late Alfred Ortega. He was a humble and big-hearted person, always willing to help anyone who asked. Danny could usually be found Chefin' it up in the kitchen, creating unique dishes which was one of his passions. He was not only a great cook in the kitchen but also a grill master. He made friends wherever he went, old or young; he would spark a conversation with anyone and make you laugh or smile instantly. Danny was all about family; his boys were his life. All-time spent with them was something he treasured and looked forward to doing. He enjoyed fishing with the kids. He always bragged about his love for them and how proud he was; they gave meaning to his life. He was a one of a kind dad.
Besides his mother Daisy Arce, Danny is survived by two sons Alfred Ortega of Bristol and Julius Ortega of Torrington, three sisters Lissette Ortega-Melendez of FL, Joanne Marcano of Bristol and Jasmine Ortega of Middletown, and a brother Nelson David Ortega of New Britain. He also leaves mother of his children, Mayra Rodriguez, and a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a big circle of friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his godfather Fermin Sanchez.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
