About Us

The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home began with a shared vision of care, compassion, and after care for people in Prospect and surrounding communities who have experienced the death of a loved one. During the summer of 2011, Joe and Sherri Corona, Carl and Phyllis Norman, and Mike and Kim Palmerie came together to form what today is called the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, LLC. But, we did not want to provide a carbon copy of other funeral services. Our funeral home, once opened, would have roots in the community. We would offer programs at local senior centers, churches, synagogues, and mosques about death and dying, pre-planning a funeral, and the many government services available to Veterans and seniors on fixed incomes.

Our partnership consists of Joe Corona, our funeral director with more than 30 years of experience in the Prospect/Naugatuck/Waterbury area, and his wife Sherri, who designed our beautiful logo, the Tree of Life. Add to the partnership Mike Palmerie, a successful businessman for more than three decades, and his wife Kim, a registered nurse for 30 years, formerly in hospice homecare. And complete the package with a retired telephone employee and hospice palliative care provider, Carl Norman and his wife Phyllis, an ordained minister serving the Prospect Congregational Church, UCC for more than a decade.

Our doors opened for the first time Monday, April 15, 2013 with a sincere desire to provide you with the best care and compassion during a difficult time of grief, along with after care services that will last beyond the funeral and interment.
